My Name is...mud if I don't get my sh*t together!

You ever have one of those days where a song gets stuck in your head and you can't shake it no matter how hard you try? Happens to me two or three times a day; I'll get the song in my head and it will loop end to end in my mind until I'm interrupted by something that requires more brain power or another song replaces. Generally, if the song is too annoying, I'll throw another song in the mix to replace said annoying one (generally, "Everyday" by Buddy Holly does the trick). For sure, this is only done for the annoying ones like "Lollipop" by Ronald and Ruby--dammit!!!

Now queuing "Everyday"

This morning, a piece of a song dropped into my head:

"I told her I'd grow up to be a famous rapper
Make a record about doin' drugs and name it after her"

Of course, that is a line from Eminem's "My Name Is". I didn't really mind it being in my head; I went ahead with my morning routine of getting ready for work and such. Sip coffee (I told her I'd grow up). Update Zune software (name it after her). Put on clothes (famous rapper). Went to work. When I got to work, the song still wouldn't leave me alone. Curious, I decided to look it up and see what Wikipedia had to say about it. And staring back at me across cyberspace and time, was a number.

1999.

1999? Nineteen Ninety-Nine? A lot are things are sold for $19.99. Prince had a hit single "1999". In 1999, I was 25 years of age, a scant 3 years out of the Army and an employee at Kaiser Permanente! One could argue that "My Name Is" still feels fresh and relevant because Eminem was a head of his time. That might be true, but in my case it's BECAUSE TIME IS FLYING BY AT AN ALARMING RATE!

<deep cleansing breaths>

I mean, it really feels like yesterday when I was humming along to that song on my CD player on the train; I thought I was so f***ing cool. When I see someone with a CD player now, I wonder what's wrong with their computer that they weren't able to put files on their MP3 player. What the hell? When is it suddenly ten years later? Maybe I had no real grasp of time up until this very moment. I mean, I've been saying "Tempus Fugit" for years, specifically, every time someone else wonders where the time is going. But, I guess now it's my turn. Had a near moment when I could've sworn that someone on the radio said that the X-Men movie was 9 years ago! Then I looked it up.

Tempus F****ing Fugit, it was!!!

This entry is a turning point.

All-In-One Innovative Pizza Box: Four Plates And Leftover Box

Coolness!     Sent to you by tony via Google Reader:     All-In-One Innovative Pizza Box: Four Plates And Leftover Box via The Huffington Post | Full News Feed by The Huffington Post News Editors on 10/21/09 William Walsh, 42, believes that his innovative pizza box invention, known as the GreenBox will radically change the way we consume pizza. The top part of the GreenBox rips off to become four plates, while the bottom part folds in half to become a smaller box good for about four slices of leftover pizza. In addition to reducing the waste generated by paper plates, the GreenBox is 100% recyclable. Walsh is currently trying to market his idea. Check out this video demonstration of the GreenBox!
