Shoveling. Snow. Saints!

The last eight days have truly been the stuff of legends!  First, the snow on Friday!  As many of you know, I was born and raised in Alexandria, VA.  Aside from the four years that I served in the Army, I've spent roughly 32 years of my life in the familiar surroundings of traffic, traffic and more traffic.  That being said, I have NEVER EVER seen anything like this.  One could make the argument that there was the blizzard of '96...but I was still in Georgia at the time so technically, this is a first for me.  I gotta say, I love snow.  Not the shoveling, but the sound of snow falling; so quiet, so serene.  Truly a thing a beauty...and the fact that I missed several days of work because of it doesn't hurt.  I also didn't miss the fact that we lost approximately 20 hours of power in the first 48 hours of said snow storm.  Honestly, I didn't mind it so much.  We lost power at 10PM which conveniently became bed time!  You'd be amazed at how tired you suddenly feel...

Everything must come to an end; the bad as well as the good.

I'm going back to work tomorrow, so naturally I can't help but reflect on the last two weeks. And, what awaits me. I'll be honest with you, 2010 fills me with a sense of euphoria. Just saying the year "Twenty Ten", sounds so futuristic and so chock full of potential, that a self professed comic book geek such as myself can't help but feel energized, awake, and alert to the prospect of flying cars and holodecks...but I digress! The last two weeks have been EXACTLY what I've needed. As my friends and co-workers will tell you, I very rarely take any vacation. Not because I don't need it, but because I always think about what's waiting for me when I get back to work. Negative, I know but that's just the way my mind works. I never really think about the positive outcome of anything. Just the negative; that way, I'm pleasantly surprised when things turn out well. Anywho, this particular vacation was nothing like I thought it would be; it...

Happy New Year...'cause I couldn't come up with a better title...

Happy New Year, everyone! A longer entry will follow, but for now I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and I want to thank Chris, Lilly, Darius, Kyra and Liam Weathers of Brandon, Florida for allowing me to spend the holidays with them. I love you guys! -Remember, George: no man is a failure who has friends--Clarence (in book inscription). "It's a Wonderful Life". 2010 babe!
