    Sent to you by tony via Google Reader:     Postal Worker Accused of Stealing 3,000+ Netflix DVDs Enters Plea Deal via Hacking NetFlix by mikek on 9/24/09 A Massachusetts postal worker accused of stealing more than 3,000 Netflix DVDs has entered a plea deal and will spend about a year in jail, according to the Smoking Gun . Myles Weathers, who worked at a mail processing and distribution center in Springfield, Massachusetts, was nabbed last year for the video heist after Netflix officials became suspicious about the frequency with which DVDs were being pinched. The video --  which shows a producer waving her arms in the air, encouraging a crowd of 9/12 protesters to make noise for a live shot -- provides some of the clearest evidence yet of Fox's central role in manufacturing anti-Obama dissent. The video isn't really a surprise: anyone whose watched coverage of protests can see that Fox is sympathetic to the protesters, but this video offered a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of Fox actually fueling the fire of the very same crowds they claim to be covering. By any sort of journalistic standards, the producer's behavior was unethical in the extreme, yet Fox has refused to fire her. Oh noes!     Sent to you by tony via Google Reader:     Opponent of Republican who shouted "You lie!" at Obama is given $25,000 $69,000 by outraged voters via Boing Boing by Cory Doctorow on 9/10/09 Simon sez, "I managed to track down a spokesman for ActBlue, the online fundraising tool for Democratic politicians, and found out that within two hours after Joe Wilson yelled out 'You lie' to the president, his opponent Rob Miller raised $25,000 from people who linked to his page on Twitter and blogs." The numbers are still going up. Update: and UP! More than $69,000 now.
