So, this hasn't happened in a while. And by "this", I mean writing an actual entry.  Sure, I've answered some of Platypi's questions, but I can't call those actually entries that were about me.  I don't know what to say except that sometimes I feel the strongest urge to write and sometimes I just want to sit on my duff and veg in front of the boob tube (oh who am I kidding???  I'm looking at porn on the Internet!  I mean they're so naked...and smooth...!); today is the former. Tonight, for the third time this week, I'm disappointed in myself.  For the last few days, I've been unable to make my diet goals. First, a little back story.  For the last several months, I've been on a diet.  A hardcore, ass-kicking diet consisting of calorie counting, walking and an elliptical machine.  I've been on this grind since November and since then, I've successfully dropped 4 pants sizes.  I'm now a svelte size 33 or 34 depending on

I wrote this in response to a  friend  who posted a blog entry about heroes and memes over a year ago: Um, I don't think about Warhammer or any games like it. I wrote this in response to a friend who posted a blog entry about heroes and memes over a year ago: Yes, I am a fan of anime; right now, my two favorites are FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Naruto: Shippuden ! And the reason I'm in to these particular shows is one word: pluck. Both main characters, Naruto and Edward Elric (Naruto: Shippuden! and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, respectively) are literally and figuratively the shortest dogs in the fight; two very powerful human beings who through sheer will and sticktoitiveness increased their abilities exponentially! They never stop, they never quit! Martin on 2/1/12 The only time I feel my age is when icons from my childhood pass on.  Today, Don Cornelius, the creator and host of Soul Train , died .  I remember many Saturday afternoons watching cartoons, Creature Double Feature , and Soul Train.  Soul Train was a large part of my musical development.  It also taught me cool dance moves; these moves have served me very well in marching. Soul Train was a very important show for mainstream culture as well as music.  Don Cornelius was a genius! Etta James, whose assertive, earthy voice lit up such hits as "The Wallflower," "Something's Got a Hold on Me" and the wedding favorite "At Last," has died, according to her longtime friend and manager, Lupe De Leon. She was 73. She died from complications from leukemia with her husband, Artis Mills, and her sons by her side, De Leon said. She was diagnosed with leukemia in 2010, and also suffered from dementia and hepatitis C. James died at a hospital in Riverside, California. She would have turned 74 Wednesday.
