Give Thanks To Your Wonkette Pals, With Recipes!

It's a time to be thankful for the things that I have rather than complain about the things that I don't! With that being said...I'm thankful that WE HAVE A NEW PRESIDENT!!! Next year, photos like this will be a thing of the past. Also, it's a time to send our prayers out to those who don't have it so good. Like our troops (and innocent civilians) in Iraq and Afghanistan. Also, to our troops in S. Korea and Germany. Also, let us keep the victims of this recent terrorist attack in India in our thoughts and prayers as well. Have a happy and reflective Thanksgiving! For some odd reason, this brings a smile to my face... Sent to you by tony via Google Reader: Ann Coulter's Jaw Wired Shut: Report via The Full Feed from HuffingtonPost.com by The Huffington Post News Editors on 11/25/08 Ann Coulter may be completely silenced, at least for a while. If the New York Post 's Page Six report is true, Coulter broke her jaw and her mouth is wired shut: WE HEAR...THAT although we didn't think it would be possible to silence Ann Coulter, the leggy reaction- ary broke her jaw and the mouth that roared has been wired shut... Mickey Mouse cleans house!

I concur! The title alone had me at hello. Dirty. Sexy. Money. After the title the characters were like a freaking train wreck in slo-mo. And now, they're axing it. Well, at least I'm not alone. My friend is a huge "Pushing Daisies" fan. Gotta love American television. Sent to you by tony via Google Reader: ABC shuts down Dirty Sexy Money, Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone via Millarworld New Topics on 11/21/08 This is as per Michael Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly: ABC swings an axe I didn't watch Daisies or Eli Stone, but I thought Dirty Sexy Money was absolutely brilliant. Such a shame that they axe this and keep crap like Greys Anatomy and Private Practice on the air. Commemorative SmarTrip Cards Marking Obama Inaugration Available in January

Coolness.     Sent to you by tony via Google Reader:     Commemorative SmarTrip Cards Marking Obama Inaugration Available in January via DCist by Sommer Mathis on 11/20/08 Metro hasn't yet formally announced the sale of a special edition SmarTrip card commemorating the impending inauguration of President-Elect Barack Obama, but this image was circulated at this morning's regular Board of Directors meeting, along with details on their production schedule and cost. Metro spokesperson Steven Taubenkibel confirmed that the commemorative SmarTrip cards should be available for sale in early January, while special paper Metro farecards marking the inauguration will be sold somewhat earlier, in late December. There was some discussion at the board meeting about the cost and availability of the commemorative SmarTrip cards. Currently, Metro plans to sell them for $10 per card, with no value added to the card at the time of initial purchase, which would make them $5 more e

Fifty-Seven and Counting...

Fifty-Seven. That's the number for now. Honestly, I thought this was a new trend ("The Office", "Worst Week Ever", "Coupling"... shudder ); boy was I wrong. I guess it's all about perception, here I thought that "All in the Family" and "Three's Company" were as American as apple pie. They're actually as American as fish and chips! Then again, they were both solid shows (the latter is debatable) that spawned spin-offs like "Three's a Crowd" and "The Jeffersons"; insofar as pop culture and marketability, those shows were hits. I don't mind Steve Carrell in "the Office", but it reminds me way too much of the originally; Ricky Gervais will always be the boss from hell. Still, it's not a bad translation. Of course, for every "Sanford & Son", there's a "Coupling". Shudder... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:American_television_series_based_on_Bri

Batman RIP Takes Down Nightwing, Robin And Birds Of Prey [Batman Rip]

Okay, let's try this in Google Reader. So, Google Reader won't publish the images, but overall, I'm pleased w/what I'm able to put on this blog from Reader. :) Sent to you by tony via Google Reader: Batman RIP Takes Down Nightwing, Robin And Birds Of Prey [Batman Rip] via io9 by Graeme McMillan on 11/5/08 While we may have to wait two weeks for the delayed conclusion of comic storyline Batman RIP , the aftershocks are already leaking out... like the fact that DC Comics are cancelling the long-running series for all of Batman's sidekicks. February 2009's issues of Robin , Nightwing and Birds of Prey - all of which have run for over a decade - will be their last, DC confirmed yesterday. Still uncomfirmed are rumors that the series will be relaunched as Batman And Robin , Red Robin and an unnamed third title to reflect the post- RIP changes to the Batman mythos.
