What's a blog?

So my friend asked me what a blog is? I gave her the generic answer, that it's derived from the words "web" and "log". Simple enough. But then, I started thinking about how something so simple can end up being so much more; blogs can vary in layers. I mean, the web, in and of itself is GI-NORMOUS!!! If you want to find anything, you can find it on the web (That's gotta be the "duh" statement of the year. I mean, you are reading this blog and later, you may check your e-mail and move money out of your savings into your checking account online) and a log/diary/journal can be very something very deep, personal and introspective. The two go together like chocolate and peanut butter! But then, I started thinking about people who lost their jobs over their blogs and how blogs are changing the face of journalism and even the way we percieve the world! I mean, it's just one syllable. Wow! http://www.steviewonder.net/

All tapped out?

How do you do it, blogosphere? How do you do it? How do you bloggers write day in and day out? There are tons of prolific bloggers out there who have something witty to say...daily! I really wish that I didn't envy those guys (and gals), but I do! Why not me? Why not me??? I was busy slamming my head against one of the walls in the computer room when my roommate, in all of his infinite wisdom, inquired about my situation. "Shouldn't you only blog when you have something important to say?", he queried. "Yeah.", I responded. Yeah. http://www.richardpryor.com/
