Everything must come to an end; the bad as well as the good.

I'm going back to work tomorrow, so naturally I can't help but reflect on the last two weeks. And, what awaits me. I'll be honest with you, 2010 fills me with a sense of euphoria. Just saying the year "Twenty Ten", sounds so futuristic and so chock full of potential, that a self professed comic book geek such as myself can't help but feel energized, awake, and alert to the prospect of flying cars and holodecks...but I digress!

The last two weeks have been EXACTLY what I've needed. As my friends and co-workers will tell you, I very rarely take any vacation. Not because I don't need it, but because I always think about what's waiting for me when I get back to work. Negative, I know but that's just the way my mind works. I never really think about the positive outcome of anything. Just the negative; that way, I'm pleasantly surprised when things turn out well. Anywho, this particular vacation was nothing like I thought it would be; it was two weeks of relaxation, laughter and friendship (once again, I wanna thank the Weathers Family of Brandon, FL...keep slaying those monsters, Darius. Protect your flock!) that makes me want to take more vacations! And honestly, I was with three kids, ages ranging from 4-8, and they kept me on my toes the entire time.

I couldn't have been happier.

The six of us went to MOSI, Fort De Soto, another park the name of which escapes me (but beautiful nonetheless) and Busch Gardens Tampa. Just me, two or more adults and three kids.

And I left every event feeling more energized than I started, even though the kids put me through their paces as I tried keep up and one-up, their hi-jinks. Those were my days. At night, I stayed up with my friends, Chris and Lilly, played "DC vs. Mortal Kombat", drank beer, watched "the IT Crowd"(easily one of the FUNNIEST shows on TV. Any where! If you're not watching this show, add it to your Netflix queue, TiVo it on IFC or buy it on Amazon, Best Buy, Borders, Barnes & Nobles, Half.com or any place you acquire your DVDs. Then. Watch. This. Show.) and listened to 80's music. That's right, three 35 year olds essentially regressed to the age of 16 after the kiddies went to bed!

In fact, I landed in Dulles days later and didn't really feel any fatigue until I got back into this very room.

Where I collapsed for a few hours.

And now, tomorrow, I'll be back in the office. I would imagine that the office looks exactly the way I left it.

I have a very strong imagination.

Hopefully, the newbs in GW haven't destroyed the Keurig with their hot cocoa and marshmallow thievery...
