Author, comedian and actor Jonathan Winters passed away from natural causes.  Winters was a fixture on television and in film, and also had a long career in both voiceover and standup comedy.

Regarded for his improvisational style, Winters was an inspiration for Robin Williams and starred as his son, Mearth on Mork & Mindy starting in 1981.

Among his other credits, Winters appeared in The Twilight Zone, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming, Moon over Parador, The Flintstones, The Shadow, The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and voiced Papa Smurf in The Smurfs and again in it's upcoming sequel.

Check out a few of my favorite Jonathan Winters moments after the jump.

I placed it across the room on purpose; that way I'll have to get out of bed. I throw a shoe @ it. This morning was different. I rolled over and felt the sun caress my face like a lover I lost ages ago, heard the beautiful chirp chirp chirp-ing of a mother bird and her young, jumped out of bed, stretched and f
