These are the musings of my nephew, age 5. This conversation took place last month between my nephew JoJo and his mother, my sister.

Joseph--Mommy, can I have a piece of orange gum, please?
My sister--No baby, not right now.
Joseph--Please, Mommy?
My sister--No Joseph, don't ask me again!
Joseph--(Cooing) Who's my special girl?

My sister hands my nephew a piece of gum.

Joseph--Thank you, Mommy.
