From Logorrhea to Inspiration in seconds!

I inspired her to start blogging.

I know, I know, how the hell did manage to inspire someone to do, well, anything? I can barely inspire myself to roll out of bed every morning. Well apparently, this is the one time that my logorrhea may have actually worked for me instead against me. I was telling one of my new co-workers that I could actually take a pic with my phone and post it to my blog instantly.

"You can do that?" asked my co-worker, Petra. Sure. Too easy. I took one of my old photos from my phone's library and sent it to my blog. Then I gave them my address and told them to check it out when they were done with lunch. It was during this time that talk of hot cocoa and the Keurig came up (it's actually quite boring, so I'll skip it. Just know that no matter what Petra posts in her blog, she broke the Keurig...I mean, you can even see the cup of cocoa in her photo. Some people!) and when she was making a statement, I snapped the aforementioned photo you see below.

She was thrilled.

Especially when I posted it to my blog within seconds.

She then said it was time that she started her own blog and give into social sites like Facebook and Twitter as well! She was concerned about her privacy which is why she was reticent about said sites for so long.

I inspired her. Mark it on your calendar.

It happened.



Let's just hope that her blog fairs better than the Keurig she maimed.

Shoveling. Snow. Saints!

The last eight days have truly been the stuff of legends!  First, the snow on Friday!  As many of you know, I was born and raised in Alexandria, VA.  Aside from the four years that I served in the Army, I've spent roughly 32 years of my life in the familiar surroundings of traffic, traffic and more traffic.  That being said, I have NEVER EVER seen anything like this.  One could make the argument that there was the blizzard of '96...but I was still in Georgia at the time so technically, this is a first for me.  I gotta say, I love snow.  Not the shoveling, but the sound of snow falling; so quiet, so serene.  Truly a thing a beauty...and the fact that I missed several days of work because of it doesn't hurt.  I also didn't miss the fact that we lost approximately 20 hours of power in the first 48 hours of said snow storm.  Honestly, I didn't mind it so much.  We lost power at 10PM which conveniently became bed time!  You'd be amazed at how tired you suddenly feel

Good Mourning

I'm not a morning person, never have been. From as far back as I can remember, I've never really been the type of person to roll over and bed, feel the sun kiss my face, hear the birds sing, wake up to the sound of an alarm clock and think, "today's the best day of my life!". I'm usually the other guy; deep in slumber, sawing logs (like all snorers, I've never had the distinguished privilege of hearing the sweet, melodic sounds of my nocturnal singing performances) I've got a my drapes closed @ all times, birdsongs are overrated (it's like they're phoning it on or something; a total lack of originality!), the alarm clock goes off. I placed it across the room on purpose; that way I'll have to get out of bed. I throw a shoe @ it. This morning was different.
